Quadrille Lesson Plans

Use this set of three Horsemanship lesson plans to introduce students to the art of riding in formation. While we use them to teach drillwork skills at the beginning of our popular Quadrille Camp, you could also incorporate them into riding lessons or club meetings for regular students.

This is the second set of lesson plans for Gold Level in the unmounted HorseCentered Levels curriculum, containing 10 lessons for teaching advanced equine behavior and training theory. Set #2 – Possibility allows unmounted students to put their training knowledge to use in the arena, working toward sophistication in ground handling and liberty skills.

Let the games begin! This collection of Halloween-themed mounted games can used to put on a fun, revenue-generating Trick or Treat horsemanship tournament – or add (pumpkin) spice to riding lessons for all levels! Mounted games are a time-honored method of developing horseback riding skills. Mounted games encourage teamwork and communication as they help riders develop a secure, independent seat.

HorseSense teaching guide for unmounted lessons or prospective horse owner clinics on responsible equine financial planning. Many students are unaware of the big numbers involved in horseback riding activities and horse ownership, and may not be familiar with creating budgets. Guiding them through the budgeting process will give them realistic expectations and help them make sound horse care decisions.

We require Teal HorseSense students to design hunter, equitation, and show jumping courses – but you can use any discipline tto help students learn safe, intelligent jumping exercises for their own horse in the future.
