Trick or Treat Games – Mounted Games for Lessons or Competitions

Learning Levels Downloads

Helpful information about this resource:

Let the games begin!

This collection of 12 Halloween-themed mounted games can be used to put on a fun, revenue-generating Trick or Treat horsemanship tournament – or add (pumpkin) spice to riding lessons for all levels.

Mounted games are a time-honored method of developing horseback riding skills. Mounted games also encourage teamwork and communication as they help riders develop a secure, independent seat.

We like to think of mounted games as high-adrenaline dressage. With enough practice, horses and riders transform into balanced, enthusiastic athletes!

If you run a lesson business, you may find that mounted games help your bottom line. Why? Because students that are having fun are more likely to progress, more likely to recommend the experience to their friends, and more likely to come back for more.

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
