How do you challenge students to keep learning about horses?

Keep it fun and interactive!

We have a LOT of different teaching materials that can be used for educational games, competitions, and self-study.

Most of these materials were originally developed for summer day camps. The challenge for us was that we had the same kids at camp every year – including one group that signed up for six straight years!

We had to develop new ways to teach these kids to keep it fresh and fun. And we wanted them to remember the information, particularly the campers we only saw for one week every summer.

So we developed a BUNCH of games, quizzes, and hands-on teaching tools for Learning Levels – and found them invaluable for teaching both regular lessons and clinics, as well as for helping students study at home.

Keep students engaged and eager to learn
by teaching the same info in different ways.

An ordinary teacher teaches how to accumulate information.

A good teacher teaches how to assimilate information.

A great teacher teaches how to stand up and turn every challenge into opportunities.

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
