…including updated resources and changes to the website:
UPDATED RESOURCES - 2025
Learning about equine communication is now an official Red Level HorseSense objective, with an emphasis on signs of a horse experiencing stress or discomfort. We’ve also expanded the wording on a few Purple Level HorseSense objectives to reinforce the commitment to equine welfare.
NOTE: Updated resources will have “_rev2025” added to the PDF filename.
- HorseSense Teaching Guides for Red Level - All previous teaching guides have been revised and are now bundled into one download file, which also includes the How to Teach HorseSense Using Our Teaching Guides introduction. We still have two individual teaching guides (Horse Safety and Horse Talk) available to download without a membership.

UPDATED RESOURCES - 2024
- Corrected a missing direction on the instructions page for #2 Survivor Course - Yellow Level Obstacle Course Maps. Thanks to Kaylee Dotson at Abbotsford Park Riding Centre for the heads up!
- Revised Stuff Happens While Instructing set to include a few more unmounted and groundwork lesson scenarios.
- Revised Learning Levels Instructors Starter Set, with study guides and Quick Start lists for Rainbow and Red Level.
- Made some tiny tweaks to the images in the Levels Achievement Chart, and all of the Progress Sheets files; also corrected a page header for one of the Progress Sheets PDFs.
- Corrected a little oops in the print tip page for both the Pink Level Horse Talk Cards and the White Level Training Talk Cards - so they tell you to print the correct number of "back sides" for duplex printed cards. Props to Debbie Shoup from T.R.O.T.R for spotting the error!
- Found a tiny typo in the Rainbow Pony Parts Worksheet - the term "Coronary Band" somehow got cut in half!
- Corrected tiny typo in the Yellow HorseSense Study Guide - changed "Lippizaner" to "Lipizzaner"!
