Help your beginner students prepare for our third level of mounted Western riding lessons using the Green Level Horsemanship study guide.
This “textbook” for Green Level introduces the lope and an awareness of leads; emphasizes development of the seat and a solid position in preparation for trail riding and riding over obstacles. Students ride bareback, build stamina without stirrups, and test their balance and planning ability by negotiating several different exercises using ground poles.
Students begin the transition from passenger to thinking rider in this level, learning to evaluate safe riding conditions for their mounts and to recognize their influence on the horse’s movement and behavior.
