Level Up Flashcards – Equine Bits

Learning Levels Downloads

Helpful information about this resource:

Our printable flashcards combine terms, definitions, and illustrations to help your Blue Level HorseSense students identify 30 common English and Western equine bits.

Level Up flashcard sets contain terms and definitions for objectives in the Learning Levels curriculum. All of the terminology is taken directly from the information in our study guides – in this case, the Blue Level HorseSense Study Guide.

This set of flashcards is designed for a single-page print on plain card stock, which makes the cards useful for matching games.

There’s also a blank card set that you can use to add your own custom terms, illustrations, and definitions.

LLPro tip: We like to use these versatile flashcards along with our hands-on collection of used bits, which makes it easier for students to understand the action of each bit. Look for inexpensive used bits at local and online tack swaps, as well as from students and boarders.

30 terms in this set.

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
