Let the Unmounted Games Begin!
Unmounted horsey learning games are our group or private lesson go-to for filling camp schedules and unexpected rainy days.

There’s a lot more to horses than looking good on their backs… even the Horsemanship Levels have unmounted objectives covering essential ground skills and riding theory, and rainy day lessons can help students progress to the next Level.
We think that Green Level Horsemanship is a pretty important stage in a new rider’s journey… and there are a few key concepts we hope they realize along the way.
Horse people may all have their own way of doing things, but our lifestyle and love of horses keeps us connected – and that’s something we are always thankful for.
Study guides help your students prepare for both mounted and unmounted lessons: when students come into lessons with in-depth understanding of the WHY it allows us to progress much more quickly to the HOW.
Equitation patterns, a long-time standby in English and Western flat classes, have become one of our favorite teaching tools for flatwork lessons.
Don’t be afraid to teach entire mounted lessons at the walk for fear of boring your students. Walk-only lessons are a seriously underrated tool that can save you income, keep your horses fit, and challenge riders at all levels.
Our perspective is that thirty days of focused No-stirrup November seat-building can be a really great thing… if you do it carefully with consideration for both horse and rider.
We teach our students to expect the unexpected, and try to prepare them for the inevitable moment where they’ll have to make a quick decision to get out of trouble.
We had a waiting list for eleven of those years and the majority of our students stayed with us for at least three years – most stayed for much longer, and many we’re still teaching.
It can be a place where students feel loved and supported at all stages of their education. It can be a place where lifelong friendships are formed. It can be a place where children and adults want to spend their time.
You want new students to stay, which means you want them to fall in love. Helping your horse become a lovable solid citizen is one of the greatest investments you can make in your lesson business.
One of our most important jobs as instructors is to give students the foundation that allows them to learn new skills successfully, without putting them at risk!
We want to give our beginners a strong foundation that keeps them safe in the excitement to come. Along the way, we hope they’ll learn to appreciate the little stuff: better balance, improved communication with their horse, and the ability to ride joyfully without going fast.
Rainbow Level was created to bridge the gap between “first ride” and “regular student”, giving our Rising Riders a way to measure their achievements.
No matter their age, their previous experience with horses, or their aspirations, these Red Level students are the foundation of a riding school. They are our future lessees, boarders, campers and competitors – the clients we hope we’ll serve for years to come.
We wanted to recognize our students’ progression and achievements even if they could only afford a couple of lessons a month, never attended a show, and never owned a horse of their own.
