Need to know more about this resource?

These printable cards are used for the “challenge box” section of our obstacle course map:

Yellow HM #5 – Challenge Box.

Once a rider has navigated into the box, she must pick one of these cards, each of which has a mounted skill that she must demonstrate before completing the course.

It’s a simple and effective tool that adds a fun element of surprise to the lesson.

Use our cards as a starting point and create your own unique Challenge Card Sets.

This set has 20 cards.

The first page of cards is an optional “back side” for the cards. You can just print the card pages and leave the back side of each card blank – but we like the name of the card set on the back to help keep things organized.

This file contains a page of instructions followed by the back page and 5 pages of cards.

Print all five pages, then cut them into four cards each, which will give you a total of 20 cards in the set.

We have been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood out in a sweltering/ freezing arena – or slogged up and down our hilly pastures – capturing lifelong memories of camps, clinics, and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One such student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here.

You’ll also find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials (like study guides) graciously donated by Rhonda Hagy, who is a student and lifelong friend. Contact us for information about her work.

Are we lucky or WHAT?!
