HorseSense Taboo Cards – Blue Level

Learning Levels Downloads

Helpful information about this resource:

Taboo cards for Blue Level HorseSense have an equine term on the top of the card and several forbidden “taboo” words listed below the term. Taboo is a popular verbal game that can help students learn equine terminology. Students must guess each term from the description provided by a teammate — and that description may NOT use any of the taboo words!

We’ve created curated lists of terms and taboo words for each unmounted Learning Level and formatted them as sheets of printable cards. All of the terms in this set can be found in the students’ Blue Level HorseSense Study Guide.

NOTE: Look for all of the Blue Level terms and definitions in Level Up Flashcards – Blue HorseSense and the corresponding Level Up Terminology List.

This PDF file contains:

  • 10 pages of cards for a total of 80 terms
  • detailed instructions for gameplay and suggested variations
  • a page of optional title cards that could be printed on the card backs

Many thanks for the suggestion from instructor Debbie Shoup at TROTR.org!

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
