Horse of a Different Color – Rainbow Level

Learning Levels Downloads

Helpful information about this resource:

Help your youngest students track their progress in both mounted English horsemanship and unmounted HorseSense lessons – and motivate them to do more – with this colorful tracking tool for the first level of the Learning Levels equine curriculum.

Students can color in a new section of the horse drawing as they check off each objective for the Level, and see at a glance what they need to learn next. When they’ve completed all requirements for the Level, they’ll have a colorful horse to illustrate their achievement.

For Rainbow  Level, the objectives are broken down into many small age-apropriate steps (24 of them!) so this download file has 4 pages: a sample drawing with instructions, a sample checklist page, and the blank pages for the drawing and checklist.

We suggest printing two copies: one for the student to keep at home, and one that you keep as the “official” record.

You might also consider displaying completed pages in your barn, office, website or social media postings.

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
