About our WESTERN resources...

Most of our teaching materials can easily be adapted for any style of riding — but you’ve told us you’d like Western versions of some resources, so we’re working on it!

Our first priority is to finish publishing the core Levels materials — that’s study guides, lesson plans and teaching guides for every Learning Level. We also have a lot of Western illustrations to commission, which takes some time!

However, we’re working in a few key Western materials where we can, starting with lower level study guides for the Western Horsemanship curriculum. We’ll be able to add more after we publish Teal, White, and Gold Level resources in 2023.

Meanwhile, you’ll find helpful tips for customizing Levels lesson plans and teaching tools specifically for Western riding in this Boss Mares blog post, and more information for editing resource materials on our How to Customize Learning Levels page.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for new resources.

We’ve been blessed with many talented photographers over the years: students who voluntarily stood in sweltering/ freezing arenas, capturing lifelong memories of lessons, camps and shows. We’re grateful to all of them!

One former student, Delaney Witbrod, is now a professional photographer with a gift for animal portraits – see more of her fine work here. We’re also grateful for photos of Western riding donated by LLPro instructors – particularly Bit of Pleasure Horse School and Joyful Hearts Photography!

You’ll find illustrations throughout our online courses and printed materials graciously donated by our friend Rhonda Hagy. Evan Surrusco contributes additional illustrations and handles most of our photo processing. Contact us for information about their work.
